Closing the Slaughter Pipeline - Oppose Funding for BLM Adoption Incentive

Important Budget Legislation is under consideration in Congress  -  Forward this information to your respective representatives. 

Taking This Action requests your representatives use their power in the Appropriations Process to deny the BLM Budget from spending for the 2025 Adoption Incentive Program.  

• This request asks for Appropriations ammendment language to stop the Adoption Incentive Program

• This program facilitates the movement of Wild Horses and Burros into sale for slaughter.

• The BLM has neither the authority nor the incentive to keep adopted animals safe.

• Many adopters quickly dump their animals once the incentive payment from the BLM is received.

• This floods the rescue organizations and sale pens

• The scheme is very lucrative for the 'kill buyers' the equivalent of a FREE animal and $750 cash from the BLM.

• The conditionns in the slaughter holding system are completely inhumane
